Job Description
Department & how it relates to the role The Programme Engineering Manager team forms part of the Head of Track Delivery SE within Track Asset Management. Collectively they deliver the annual domestic track renewals workplan for the Anglia, Kent and Sussex Routes. The Programme Engineering Managers (PEM) team consists of multi-disciplined engineers who provide engineering direction and instruction on the current and future years domestic track renewals programme for S&C and plain line. The PEM team closely liaise with the Route Asset Managers, our installation contractor and other consultancies who provide S&C designs and trackbed investigations to us. About the role (External) Project Engineer Signalling will be responsible for the review and acceptance of S&C designs, checking they are compliant to Network Rail company standards, of good technical content and quality, buildable and maintainable. During development of the designs the Project Engineer Signalling may be called upon to resolve technical queries arising from site walkouts, surveys or records. In addition you will work closely with our designer and installation contractor to ensure that each project achieves and maintains the necessary levels of quality and manage any temporary derogation that may arise during design and construction. The ideal candidate will have a design or renewals background with an IRSE licence in Design or Project Engineering or extensive railway engineering experience. Preference is for a candidate to have Signalling design knowledge.
